August 15, 2009 I am officially packed, as of 2 hours ago.  Everything I need for 10 days in Uganda, conveniently stowed away in one backpack.  It certainly feels more real now.  I am so excited to be going, but also a little nervous about leading a team of 14 people.  I know it is going to be an amazing trip - I am only nervous about the details (and making sure we stick to budget). I just have to plan the devotional for the first night.  I really want people to think about why we have travelled halfway across the world to be there - not just for those ten days, but in terms of our purpose and meaning for the rest of our lives.  I don’t want this to be an exotic adventure, but an experience through which we all gain an deeper understanding of what it mean to give of ourselves. Love, in order to be sincere, must have a cost.  We are called, as Christian (perhaps simply as human beings) to give of ourselves for the betterment of this world and as an expression of agape love. Pray that all of us will grow into more complete human beings and more devoted followers of Christ. ~ Jacob Lange
