UGANDA. I never thought I would add this destination on my WORLD TRAVEL bucket list until a week ago when I received my VISA. Upon taking a brisk walk after my cousin Kathryn’s rehearsal dinner last night I realized something; the most memorable travels are ones that had a unique purpose. Sure, I love a little down time just like any other person but this is definitely greater than just ‘down time.’ This upcoming trip will require more than setting foot on foreign soil, eating unfamiliar foods and hearing a different language. I will be meeting with the future leaders of Uganda. I have heard and read many of their stories but I am eager to sit down one on one with them and get lost in their eyes and focus on the words that will be uttered. I can’t wait to hold their hand and discover new talents as I unfold my anticipated lesson plan.
I have no expectations because I know I will surpass anything I set my heart to do. Living in NY for 4 years has led me to believe that ANYTHING is possible. Seriously. I am putting my whole trust in God to make this journey everything it’s meant to be.
I am blessed to be going with a group of truly amazing individuals!
I am also surrounded with some phenomenal colleagues, friends and family who have contributed financially, lifted me up spiritually and prepared me emotionally. Grateful is not enough to describe how I feel about all of you. Until the next entry…
