So I finally got to get online today. The flights here went very smoothly and there were no delays and we had fairly good weather.  The first flight was 6 hours and the second was 7.5 hours.  I only slept for an hour the entire trip, so needless to say, I am seriously jet lagged.  We’re eating great African food, though, and I honestly think that the kids are giving the energy that I need :)

Things are going really great so far.  The schedule is tough, we are up pretty late
with the kids and do devotionals every night, then up early for seminars the next morning.

We went to a village yesterday, walking through some intense areas of Kampala (the capital of Uganda).  One of the kids took me and another team member to his home to meet his brothers and sisters. The entire experience was overwhelming, to say the least.  I have never been in this part of the world and seen with my own eyes the poverty that exists in a third world country.  I felt like I was in a National Geographic documentary.  It really opened my eyes about the ridiculous things that we stress about as Americans and the day to day schedules that our lives revolve around…..very, very different.

L.E.A.D. Uganda brought in a DJ and we had a great dance party last night at the house.  The kids are all so full of life and energy, despite being abducted and trained as child soldiers in the Civil War just a few years ago.

This morning we led our first seminar for the high school students. It went incredibly well, they it’s humbling how intelligent these kids are.

Thank you for your continued prayers for our safety and for the ministry that we are here to perform.
