- So much we take for granted about 730 pm on day three here. I am overwhelmed by the poverty and lack of simple things here. These kids have next to nothing but what they do have they are so grateful for. Every time we come or go its crazy because every kid wants to give us a welcome or goodbye for now hug. Lots of hugs. especially the little ones. they are adorable. I cant wait for all the pictures to get on facebook. still havent made it to the market but \i will be buying flip flops for some of the kids whos flip flops are basically unwearable and some small gifts for my friends, family and those who partnered with me on this trip . well gotta run dinner is in a few minutes and there are some kids who want to be taught a lesson in how to play checkers haha

Last night was crazy. We got a DJ and. Had a dance party. The kids can dance. Rude boy is their fav song. Hilariouss. 5 year olds dancing like people so in the clubs in ny only better. Got a chance to talk with a 16 year old named Emma who was a child hood soldier from the age of 6 until he escaped at 13. One of tje craziest storiest I ever heard. Having a great time. Will try to post again before I go tp bed

So I am laying in bed right now under a mosquito net and figured I would give a quick update before I get up. Its 715 am here and we don’t have to be at the house till 10 to allow us to adjust to the time difference and get some rest after an 18 journey. So we land go through customs, get our bags, and head out to the van that’s there to pick us up. The kids there to vgreet us were amazing. So friendly and greatfull. Everyone one wanting to bug us and talk about anything. At first I thought. This isn’t that different. Cars in the parking lot, what looked major highways coming and going….. And than we started driving. First thing is theybdrive in the wrong side of the road. Just kidding. But it wierd and a little nerve wracKng. The roads re naarrow a d there appear to be little too no rules. Its was complwtly dark and thewre people walking right in the shoulder of the road. Gas stations everywhere….. Littlee shops and bars are lite up and it seems pool is popular here. Just a guess. There is pool table at the bar in our hotel too. The balls are red and orange withh one bla one. No numbers Our hotel is suprisingly very nice. Not the Hampton inns I usually stay in but actually looks awesome from the outside Now for the most amazing part of the trip so far. So after an hour long drive from thee airporr we pull down a dirt road and arrive at the house. Before we can see the house we can here the kids who can sEe thee lights on the van. I was the laast one out of thee van and it took forever because all the kids were greating everyone as they for out of thee van. I was able take some. Pictures of this scene but I know they won’t do the moment justice. We were than treated wlto what wouldd best be described as a dance off. It was awesome and no I didn’t dance So after some time meeting and taking picture with some off the kids we went in to eat. Might be one of the besyt meals I ever has and deff the best potatoes I ever had. I have to dmit though it was hard to air theere annd enjoy all the food knowing they were givingus thee best theyy had.
